About the Band

Since 1970, the North York Temple Band’s mission, as a vital part of the corps (church) ministry, has been to spiritually nourish its members, while evangelizing the gospel of Jesus Christ to people around the world.

Throughout its rich heritage, the band has dedicated all its efforts to the glory of God.

Under Bandmaster Glenn Barlow, the band has been privileged to participate in a broad spectrum of music ministries within the community. From Sunday nursing homes and morning worship services, to the stage of Roy Thomson Hall, the band continues to thank God for its ministry opportunities and, through prayer and action, continues to rededicate its services back to Him.

The band has been privileged to participate in a wide variety of events both in Canada and abroad and has worked with many renowned artists including Michael Burgess, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Amadeus Choir, the Elmer Iseler Singers, Gold City Quartet and Darren Bartlett.

As part of the 2011-2012 season, the band was asked to perform the National Anthems at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto for the Toronto Maple Leafs, where we will return this year for a repeat performance. The band was the international guest group representing The Salvation Army at the Great American Brass Band Festival in Danville, Kentucky, USA, and again provided the accompaniment to the 1000 voices of The Big Sing held at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall.

This season will see us busier than ever, with the band returning to the recording studio for two new CD’s, a tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland and a full concert schedule.

We pray God’s blessing on you as you browse our site and hope to connect with you at one of our many events either in Canada or internationally.
